Fitness Required To Clear Indian Army Physical Examinations.

Joining the Indian Army is considered as a passion nowadays for youngsters. There was a time when recruiters used to announce through roaming vehicles with a speaker in the village about the offers given in the Indian Army so that someone can join. But nowadays recruiters throw out candidates even if they found even single fault in the scan. So in this article, we’ll be discussing the Physical Fitness Test Required To Clear Indian Army Physical Examinations.

Note: The Indian Army doesn’t recruit those people who are physically or Mentally disabled. As per the rules of the Indian Army,” fitness comes to the first priority”.

Indian Army conducts a Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which consists of 100 marks. Activities are as followed below:

  1. 1.6 Km Run.
  2. Pull-Ups.
  3. Balance.
  4. 9 Feet Ditch jump.

1. Running (1.6 Km)

* 1.6 Kilometers Run For all Categories

Running 1.6 Kilometers is the first test conducted in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which is taken during test. 

  1. If you’ll cover up the race length 1.6 Km in 5 Minutes 30 Seconds you’ll be alloted Group-I which is of 60 Marks.
  2. If you’ll cover up the race length 1.6 Km in 5 Minutes 45 Seconds you’ll be alloted Group-II which is of 60 Marks.
  3. If you’ll cover up the race length 1.6 Km AFTER 5 Minutes 45 Seconds you’re Failed.
  4. You’ll get extra time limit in race if race is conducted in a bound of hilly or terrain area.
  • (a) If Race is conducted between 5000 ft. to 9000 ft. you’ll get 30 seconds extra to all.
  • (b) If Race is conducted between 9000 ft. to 12000 ft. you’ll get 120 seconds extra to all.

Womens Military Police Eligibility Criteria

  • Long Jump of 10 Feet – It’s Necessary to qualify.
  • High Jump 3 Feet – It’s Necessary to qualify.

Religious Teacher JCO eligibility criteria

  • For the post of Religious Teacher you’ll get the Rank of JCO directly.
  • Your Age must be in between – 25 to 35 years.
  • For this you need to qualify the race in 8 minutes which is compulsary.
  • You’ll get Provision for Extra Time for 1.6 Kilometre Running if the area is Hilly or Terrain Area.
  1. If the area is only above 5000 ft.
  2. You’ll get additional 30 seconds if the height of area is 5000 to 9000 ft.
  3. You’ll get additional 120 seconds if the height of area is 9000 to 12000 ft.

Running Criteria Up to 30 years of Age

  • If you’re below 30 years of age then you need to qualify the race of 1.6 KM in 5 minutes 45 seconds. It’s necessary to qualify otherwise you’ll be failed.

Running Criteria Beyond 30 Years of Age

  • If you’re more than 30 years of age then you need to qualify the race of 1.6 KM in 6 minutes 30 seconds. It’s necessary to qualify otherwise you’ll be failed.

2. Pull Ups

Pull Ups is the second test In Physical Fitness Test after running. You’ll need to qualify this test and if you didn’t you’ll be failed.

  1. If you do 10 or more than 10 pull ups you’ll get 40 Marks.
  2. If you do 9 pull ups you’ll get 33 Marks.
  3. If you do 8 pull ups you’ll get 27 Marks.
  4. If you do 7 pull ups you’ll get 21 Marks.
  5. If you do 6 pull ups you’ll get 16 Marks.

3. Balancing Your Body

In this Physical fitness test (PFT) you’ll be told to balance your body while crawling on an iron rod which is not that much tough if you practice well for this activity.

4. Ditch Jump

Ditch Jump of 9 Feet will be the final test in Physical fitness test (PFT) which will be conducted by Indian Army. This is also considered as an easy test in which you need to clear the test of nine feet of ditch jump which is not that tough if you do practice well.
